Ministry launches new energy efficiency retrofits programme in partnership with Resilience Cayman

The Ministry of Sustainability & Climate Resiliency is launching a new programme to provide energy efficiency retrofits for eligible Caymanian homeowners struggling with high utility bills.

The Cayman Home Energy Efficiency Retrofits (CHEER) Programme will implement energy-saving retrofits for lower-income families in small homes facing high monthly utility bills.

A helping hand to protect vulnerable homes from hurricanes

A month into the Atlantic hurricane season, the Resilience Cayman charity is helping Cayman’s vulnerable to get their homes storm-ready.

“We’re talking mould on the walls, babies on mattresses that have water leaking down on them, so it is quite serious,” Resilience Cayman director Jan Gupta told the Cayman Compass.

Resilience Cayman Launches COVID19 Assistance Programme

Project supported by R3 Grant

Resilience Cayman is pleased to announce a new COVID19 assistance programme that is supported by a CI$500,000 grant from R3 Cayman Foundation.

 The programme, which will launch on November 1, 2021 and is focused on providing food vouchers, utilities relief and rent assistance to individuals and families whose employment income has been severely reduced due to work disruptions since March 2020.

Cayman Connection partners with Resilience Cayman

This unique partnership will initially be focussed on the online Cayman products shop offerings and will expand into partnerships to progress and promote initiatives that support students and young professionals overseas, including a newly established management trainee programme from Resilience Cayman.

Resilience Cayman is pleased to announce that 65 Caribbean Utilities Company (CUC) customers have benefitted from its utility relief programme launched last month. Supported by a CI$50,000 grant from R3 Cayman Foundation, the programme provides a one-time grant to help families and individuals who have lost their primary source of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The programme is accepting applications until 22 December for grants to be made in early January.

Resilience Cayman Launches Utility Relief Programme

Project supported by R3 Grant 

Resilience Cayman is pleased to announce a new utility relief programme in partnership with Caribbean Utilities Company (CUC) and supported by a CI$50,000 grant from R3 Cayman Foundation. Our Programme provides a one-time grant ( up to CI$250) to eligible low-income customers who are struggling to pay their electricity bill.

R3 Cayman Foundation donates a total of $110,000 CI to Cayman's Acts of Random Kindness, Meals on Wheels, Feed our Future, Cayman Food Bank, and Resilience Cayman to help support the island's meal and food voucher programs.

Resilience Cayman and ICCI (International College of the Cayman Islands) have partnered to establish a new Youth Internship Program in an effort to connect Caymanian students seeking work experience with businesses in need of support as the local economy reopens. 

Residence owners at the Great House have approved emergency grants totalling $51,740 to assist local non-profit agencies, addressing immediate needs in Grand CAyman relating to COVID-19. Grants will be provided to Feed Our Future, ARK, Jasmine, Cayman Islands ReD Cross, Resilience Cayman, and National Trust Cayman Islands.

The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring 'Resilience Cayman', an initiative established to help connect non-profits, entrepreneurs and businesses with tools, funds and volunteers to identify, assess, and meet community needs as they emerge during times of crisis.
